April 26

Nicholas A. Hazelton, 37, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to violating a protection order. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. June 3.

April 29

Raven D. Krontz, 43, Defiance, was sentenced to 180 days jail for violating community control standards. The violations included using methamphetamines last March. She was placed on five years community control and was referred to the WORTH Center in lieu of jail. She had been convicted of aggravated possession of drugs.

Latonya Wilson, 40, Lima, was sentenced to 13 days in jail for theft. She was placed on five years community control and given credit for time served. She must obtain and maintain employment, successfully complete all counseling and treatment and not be present at Walmart, Ottawa.

April 30

Justin W. Sergent, 36, Lima, was sentenced to 30 days jail for receiving stolen property. He was placed on five years community control and was given credit for one day served. He will be granted work release if he complies. He must obtain and maintain employment and complete all counseling and treatment recommended, and have no contact with the victim or family. A charge of aggravated possession of drugs was dismissed.

Cruz Castillo, 37, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl-related compound. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. June 3. Any illegal drugs seized in the within action will be forfeited to the arresting agency.

April 22

Fernando A. Lorenzo, 26, Delphos, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

April 23

Ashleigh M. Doster, 40, Continental, found guilty by a jury of falsification. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $500 fine, perform 80 hours community service. She was also found guilty by a jury of interference with custody. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $250 fine.

April 25

John C. Welch, 57, Huntington, W. Va., pleaded no contest to inducing panic and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, 178 days suspended, $100 fine, complete a mental health assessment, and not possess any dangerous ordnance for five years. He was also fined $100 for disorderly conduct.

Mark E. Christian, 39, Continental, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of resisting arrest. Sentence: 90 days jail, 58 days suspended, $100 fine. He also pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $100 fine and complete a mental health assessment.

Stephen A. Myers, 55, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to stopping after accident. Sentence:180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $375 fine, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of assured clear distance was dismissed.

April 29

Ebenezer Appina, 57, Columbus, was fined $150 for driving with an expired license and $50 for fictitious registration.

April 30

Becky C. Hanneman, 37, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. Sentence: 90 days jail, 60 days suspended and must not own or possess any pets. She also admitted to violating the terms of probation. Sentence: 30 days jail, to be served concurrent.

Fernando Garcia, 29, McComb, pleaded no contest to OVI and was found guilty. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 170 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one year license suspension. He also pleaded no contest to another OVI and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days, $750 fine, one year license suspension. He also pleaded no contest to driving under OVI suspension and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, to be served consecutive to other charges and fined $250. He was ordered to pay $100 for open container, $50 for marked lanes and court costs for driving without a valid license. Another charge of OVI was dismissed.

May 2

Tina M. Candia, 55, Ottawa, charged with domestic violence, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.
