Local 1219 rejects Ford-UAW agreement

LIMA — Members in the United Auto Workers Local 1219 union, which represents the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, rejected a tentative agreement between the union and Ford in a ratification vote on Wednesday.

Unofficial results shared by Local 1219 president show a tight margin, with 492 voting to ratify and 534 voting against the four-year contract.

The tentative agreement is on track for ratification, despite opposition in Lima. An ongoing tally recorded by Automotive News shows 15,437 yes votes and 9,854 votes as of Thursday afternoon, with one day of voting left.
