Putnam County arrests potentially dangerous man

OTTAWA — The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended a man they’d sought since Saturday.

The sheriff’s office apprehended Joe Vera III, 30, at 1:40 a.m. Monday, according to the sheriff’s office. Before the arrest, they’d warned that he could potentially be armed.

Vera was listed with a Wabash Avenue address in Defiance for a 2023 assault case. He has warrants for aggravated burglary, strangulation, escape and aggravated robbery. He also has a nationwide warrant through the adult parole authority for parole violations off a 2015 aggravated robbery, endangering children and breaking and entering case out of Hanock County.

The Delphos Police Department also shared the update on its Facebook page, noting Vera had ties to Delphos.
