Lima man labeled major drug offender in indictment

LIMA — A Lima man pleaded not guilty Friday in Allen County Common Pleas Court on charges including drug trafficking and possession and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity with a major drug offender specification.

The charges Ki’shon Sims faces — which are all first- and second-degree felonies — also include the forfeiture of $1,206, $2,012 and two guns, along with firearm specifications.

According to the police narrative provided in court documents, on Sept. 13 a post office inspector took custody of a seized parcel at the Lima post office. A federal search warrant was authorized, and officers found approximately 3 pounds and 0.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine.

The same day, a search was executed at the Lima address 320 S. Woodlawn Ave. According to the narrative, prior to the search, Ki’shon Sims, with the assistance of Savion Escarsega, removed the parcel from the residence and took it to a vehicle parked in the driveway. Sims was observed opening the parcel near the vehicle. The narrative said Escarsega was planning on following Sims from the residence with the parcel to avoid being stopped by law enforcement.

Sims is being held in the Allen County Jail on a $500,000 bond. A pretrial has been scheduled for Nov. 1.
