MONROE TOWNSHIP — A Continental man died after his motorcycle crashed into a car Wednesday at about 8 p.m. on County Road 21, north of County Road G in Putnam County.
According to a news release from the State Highway Patrol, Thomas Elkins, 45, of Continental, was traveling southbound on County Road 21 attempting to turn left into a private driveway when a motorcycle driven by David Wagner, 34, of Continental, struck Elkins while traveling northbound.
Elkins sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Continental EMS. Wagner was initially transported by ground ambulance but was eventually flown to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center where he died Thursday.
Speed is suspected to be a factor. Elkins was not properly restrained in his vehicle and Wagner was not wearing a helmet.
