Monday electrical fire closes Delphos St. John’s

DELPHOS — Delphos St. John Catholic Schools closed Monday due to an early morning electrical fire.

The Delphos and American Township fire departments responded to a fire alarm at the school around 2 a.m. Monday, when first responders discovered an electrical fire in the school’s maintenance area, according to a news release from Delphos St. John’s.

Fr. Jeffrey Walker said in the release that there were no injuries, and damage appeared to be confined to the maintenance area.

Staff and students will return once the school can assure the safety and air quality of its buildings, he said.
