DeSantis, Ramaswamy to headline Moreno rally

LIMA — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will join former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno at this year’s Allen County Republican BBQ Rally.

Doors will open for the event at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at the Allen County Republican Party Victory Center, 927 N. Cable Road, Lima. Anyone interested can purchase $40 tickets at the Victory Center, by emailing [email protected] or by calling 419-331-5655.

Chairman Keith Cheney said the Allen County Republicans are excited to welcome the Trump allies to the pre-Election Day event.

“Gov. DeSantis is well-known,” he said at a press conference Thursday. “He has been out on the stump for the president and is coming out for Bernie.”

Cheney touted DeSantis’ resume as a candidate in the Republican presidential primary as a U.S. representative and governor of Florida.

Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur from Ohio, also ran for the nomination before former President Trump won it. He will show up to support Moreno in his race against incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).

“Vivek is renowned throughout the country and is in demand as a speaker at Republican events,” he said. “It’s going to be great to have him here in Allen County.”

Cheney said he was excited about the lineup.

“Most events have one speaker, and we’re just excited they have both agreed to speak,” Cheney said.

Moreno, a Cleveland-area businessman, won the Republican primary in March.
