One dead after Lima house fire

LIMA — One person died in a house fire Wednesday in a blaze that left the home a total loss.

The Lima Fire Department was called to 1014 W. High St. around 2:49 a.m. Wednesday to find the house fully engulfed. The person who died was the only one in the house. The victim’s name has not yet been released, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

According to the Allen County Auditor’s website, the house was owned by Jeremy Shuler. As of Wednesday afternoon, the house has been demolished.
