Lima abduction case transferred to common pleas court

LIMA — The case of a Lima man charged with abduction was transferred to Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday.

Arthur Brown III, 25, waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a brief appearance in Lima Municipal Court Thursday morning on the third-degree felony charge.

Judge Kevin Smith ordered the case to be considered by a future session of the Allen County grand jury. Brown’s bond was continued at $150,000. If bond is posted, he will be required to obtain a GPS ankle monitor.

Assistant Allen County Prosecuting Attorney Joe Everhart said the victim involved in an alleged incident on Sept. 17 was present in the courthouse and had requested that bond be continued.

“He (Brown) and the victim were in a relationship for about a year and there are allegations that a knife was used and that he made threats” to the woman’s life, Everhart said.
