Football roundup: Lima Senior gets last-second win over Findlay

Lima Senior (2-0) snapped its six-game losing streak to Findlay on Friday night with a 35-31 last-second victory thanks to Amari Addy who caught the game-winning touchdown with 14 seconds left.

Addi finished the game with 4 catches for 55 yards. Isaiah Wilson caught seven balls for 141 yards and one touchdown.

Quarterback JaNaius Hall went 25 of 49 for 319 yards and four touchdowns.

It was the first time the Spartans beat Findlay since Oct. 13, 2017.

Columbus Grove 42, Liberty-Benton 14

Columbus Grove (2-0) picked up its ninth straight regular-season victory after leading 35-7 at the half against Liberty-Benton.

Trenton Barraza rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries for the Bulldogs and Landon Best completed 8 of 12 passes for a touchdown and a pair of interceptions.

Liberty-Benton’s Trevin Lieb finished the game 17 of 26 for 162 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Zach Elchert rushed for 72 yards and made 4 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Spencerville 28, Wayne Trace 27

Zach Looser scored the game-winning touchdown with 53 seconds left to help the Bearcats improve to 2-0.

Looser ran the ball 27 times for 89 yards and quarterback Carder Orr went 8 of 15 for 143 yards and two touchdowns, both to Will Sensabaugh who caught 4 balls for 79 yards.

Kolten Grisby added a 14-yard pick-six for Spencerville.

Wayne Trace’s Cole Morehead went 12 of 31 for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Morehead also ran the ball 11 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Bath 43, Van Wert 37

Bath (1-1) earned its first victory in a WBL opener since 2011 and its first win over Van Wert (1-1) since 2016.

Mikey Hale, who scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:11 left, ran for two touchdowns and passed for another two.

St Marys 35, Celina 6

St. Marys (2-0) finished the night with two 100-yard rushers in a rivalry win over Celina (1-1).

Dominik Osborne ran for 108 yards and a touchdown. Colton Mabry had 101 yards and two touchdowns and Caleb Schmidt ended the night with 86 yards and a touchdown.

Coldwater 31, Clarksville Clinton-Massie 15

Coldwater head coach Chip Otten won his 169th career game against Clinton-Massie, passing John Reed for most wins in Coldwater football history.

Baylen Blockberger went 9 of 14 for 114 yards and three touchdowns for the Cavaliers (2-0). He also ran the ball 10 times for 51 yards

Miles Potkotter ran for 75 yards and a touchdown, and Mason Welsch caught four balls for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Cadin Obringer made four catches, two of them for touchdowns.

Hardin Northern 30, North Baltimore 13

Hardin Northern (1-1) quarterback Xander Wilson threw for 101 yards and a touchdown and ran for 184 yards and a touchdown.

Nolan Hopson added 133 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns for the Polar Bears.

Leipsic 18, Van Buren 6

Marc Kirkendall went 10 of 23 for 137 yards and two interceptions in Leipsic’s second win.

Quinn Westhoven ran the ball 17 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns.

McComb 31, Crestview 14

McComb scored the first 24 points of the game in its second straight win over Crestview (1-1).

Crestview quarterback Bryson Penix finished 20 of 31 for 211 yards and Isaiah Barton caught 11 balls for 127 yards.

Marion Local 49, Franklin 0

Marion Local’s win over Franklin was its 50th in a row. That’s currently the longest winning streak in the nation.

Parkway 17, Delphos Jefferson 13

It was the first career victory for first-year Parkway head coach Brian Schmidt.

St. Henry 42, Archbold 14

It was the first career victory for first-year St. Henry coach Joshua Werling.
