Elida schools to limit bus transportation

ELIDA — Elida schools is limiting bus transportation due to a driver shortage.

The district will not transport middle and high school students who live east of Greenlawn Avenue within Elida village limits, according to an announcement on the district website.

Students elsewhere in the district may need to walk to their bus stop this year too, as the district updates bus routes to incorporate neighborhood stops.

Superintendent Joel Mengerink notified the school board of potential busing changes in July, as the district sought to hire six new drivers before the start of the school year.

Students returned for their first day of classes Monday.
