Ottawa man pleads guilty to reduced charges

OTTAWA — An Ottawa man pleaded guilty Thursday in the Putnam County Common Pleas Court on reduced, first-degree misdemeanor charges of attempted illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance and attempted possession of criminal tools.

Jacob Langhals, 20, was indicted on the same charges in June, but as fifth-degree felonies.

Prosecutors recommended 90 days in jail for Langhals. He has been out of jail on an own recognizance bond, and the bond was continued Thursday. A pre-sentence investigation will be conducted before sentencing on Sept. 12.
