Three injured Sunday in Monroe Township crash

MONROE TOWNSHIP — A two-vehicle accident Sunday morning in northeast Allen County sent three people to the hospital with various injuries.

According to a spokesperson with the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident took place shortly after 11 a.m. when a vehicle traveling westbound on Hillville Road, driven by Isabella Wilson, 19, of Elida, failed to stop at the intersection of Mayberry Road and was struck by a vehicle operated by Brian Langhals, 53, of Columbus Grove.

Wilson suffered minor injuries and was transported by the Putnam County EMS to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. A passenger in the car, Tucker Wilson, 13, suffered a broken elbow and complained of head, neck and pelvis injuries. He was transported to the Lima hospital by the Beaverdam Richland EMS.

Langhals was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries while a passenger in his vehicle, Angel Langhals, 53, did not require treatment.

The patrol spokesman said neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to have contributed to the accident, although distracted driving may have been a factor. The occupants of both vehicles were all wearing seat belts, he said.

Wilson was cited for failure to stop at the intersection.
