Bath schools, union reach tentative agreement

BATH TOWNSHIP — The Bath school board entered into a tentative agreement with the district’s Ohio Association of Public School Employees union Monday.

The contract raises union employee wages by 82 cents for the coming school year, followed by 3.5% raises for each of the following two school years.

Other anticipated changes outlined in the tentative contract include raises for severance payouts, on-board bus instructors, attendance stipends and substitute payrates for aides who take over classrooms when teachers are out.

The board will work with union representatives to incorporate the agreement into the now-expired full contract, which ended in June.

The final contract will then be filed with the State Employment Relations Board.
