Putnam County Common Pleas Court

The following individuals were indicted by the Putnam County Grand Jury on July 24.

Dennis R. Nelms, 48, Ottawa; domestic violence.

Joseph Mendoza, 44, Ottawa; domestic violence.

Danielle R. Miller, 31, Pandora; tampering with evidence.

Matthew T. Hill, 34, Lima; tampering with evidence and aggravated possession of drugs.

John E. Ruggles, 51, Continental; aggravated possession of drugs.

Joseph L. Smith, 21, Findlay; breaking and entering and theft, misdemeanor.

Nicole D. Conn, 47, Ottawa; aggavated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine.

Jade Jennings, 32, Continental, tampering with evidence and aggravated possession of drugs.

Jonathan-Ray C. Schmenk, 25, Kalida; sexual imposition, two counts illegal use of minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance and possessing criminal tools.

According to court records, Schmenk had sexual contact with a person less than 13 years of age, a Jane Doe (DOB 2003), while in Leipsic between June 1, 2014 through Aug. 31, 2014. He also is accused of on June 11, 2024 possessing or viewing material that shows a minor who was not his child in a state of nudity, possessing photos and videos of a minor not his child in a state of nudity while at 1570 N. Perry St., Lot 25, Ottawa. The Grand Jury further find that Schmenk is the owner and or possessor of cell phones, laptop, SD cards and USB’s which was contraband and or property derived from or through the commission or facilitation of the offense and is subject to forfeiture.

July 18

William M. Rush, 48, Columbus Grove, was sentenced to 180 days jail for using weapons while intoxicated and for operating a vehicle while under the influence. The judge suspended 174 days with credit three days jail upon completion of DIP. He was fined $375 and his drivers license was suspended for 180 days. The firearm seized in the within action shall be forfeited to the arresting agency.

July 22

Cal M. Himelick, 36, Delphos, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs. He faces up to 12 months in prison, and $2,500 in fines. Bond was amended to an OR bond while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 1 p.m. Aug. 26. Any illegal drugs seized in the within action shall be forfeited to the arresting agency.

July 23

David F. Trombley, Ottawa, and Kara L. Trombley, Perrysburg, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married May 31, 2019 in Perrysburg and have no children.

Cristina Oakes, Columbus Grove, and Daniel T. Oakes, Lima, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married June 17, 2017 in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and have no children.

July 11

Devin L. Humes, 34, Lima, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

July 18

Justin L. Reynolds, 33, Delphos, charged with tampering with evidence, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.

July 22

Mateo Hernandez Perez, 40, Delphos, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Nathaniel Dickey, 20, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of criminal mischief. Sentence: 10 days jail, suspended, and court costs.

Matthew T. Hill, 34, Cridersville, charged with drug abuse/possession and tampering with evidence, both felonies, bound over to common pleas court.

Matthew J. Aguirre, 34, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to assault. Sentence: 180 days jail, 160 days suspended. He also pleaded guilty to criminal damaging/endangering. Sentence: 10 days jail, suspended and pay restitution in the amount of $249.94 to the village of Columbus Grove. Charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest were dismissed.

July 23

Juan A. Reyes, Jr., 33, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 170 days suspended,$750 fine, $375 suspended, one year license suspension. Charges of OVI and speeding were dismissed.

Mark E. Morning, 42, Deshler, was fined $250 for driving under suspension (non compliance), $100 suspended.
