No new information on body found in Lima

LIMA — Lima police have not released any new information surrounding the identity of a body found Monday along a railroad track near downtown Lima.

The body of an individual was located Monday near the intersection of Market and Jackson streets in an area between Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, 125 S. Central Ave., and the railroad track that runs behind the building, according to an initial release from the LPD.

Lt. Matt Douglass of the Lima Police Department on Tuesday said the body of the person was sent to the Lucas County Coroners Office for an autopsy. The sex or estimated age of the individual has not been released by police.
