ALLEN COUNTY

Interstate 75 guardrail upgrade: Work is complete.

U.S. 30 pavement repair: U.S. 30 between Interstate 75 and State Route 235 is restricted to one lane for concrete pavement repairs.

  • Eastbound driving lane is closed until July 16; once the driving lane is reopened, the eastbound passing lane will be closed for approximately two weeks.

  • Westbound passing closed July 8 for approximately three weeks. Visit the project webpage: PID 107874

U.S. 30 at Defiance Trail: Permanent access changes at U.S. 30 and Defiance Trail began June 30, limiting intersection movements to right-in and right-out. The median is barricaded and the pavement has been removed.

State Route 65 utility work: State Route 65 between Lutz Road and State Road is restricted to one lane through July 12 for gas line replacement on both sides of the highway.

State Route 66 closure: State Route 66 between State Road and Landeck Road, south of Delphos, will close Monday, July 29, for approximately three days to replace a culvert.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: U.S. 30 to SR 309 to SR 81, back to SR 66 (see map).

State Route 81 culvert replacement: State Route 81 just north of Defiance Trail will close July 22 for approximately three days for a culvert replacement.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 66 to Fifth St./Lincoln Hwy., to U.S. 30, to SR 309, back to SR 81 (see map).

State Route 115 slide repair: State Route 115 between Cole Street and Kissing Hollow Drive closed on May 13 for approximately 90 days to repair the slope and replace a culvert. Visit the project webpage for more information: PID 111498

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 65 to U.S. 30, back to SR 115 (see map).

State Route 117 reconstruction: State Route 117 reconstruction is complete.

State Route 117/State Route 309 traffic signal: Traffic signal work may impact traffic at the intersection of Bellefontaine Avenue, Kibby Street, Leonard, and Harding Highway in the city of Lima. Lanes may close and flaggers may be necessary.

State Route 196 resurfacing: State Route 196 between State Route 117 and the Auglaize County line will close Monday – Tuesday, July 15-16, to chip seal the roadway. Access to properties in the work zone will be maintained via flaggers.

State Route 309 resurfacing: State Route 309 between U.S. 30 and the village of Elida will be restricted to one lane for micro-resurfacing.

AUGLAIZE COUNTY

Interstate 75 Lane Shift – Expect two lanes on I-75 in each direction. Southbound traffic in the left lane will cross over into a contraflow lane on the northbound side just south of the rest areas starting Thursday, June 6 through October 2024. Vehicles in the contraflow lane will not have access to exit 113 for SR 67. Drivers will re-enter the southbound driving lane just north of Middle Pike. Crews will be reconstructing the southbound travel lane bridge. This new traffic pattern will maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction. This shift is weather dependent.

State Route 197 Lane Closure – Expect lane closures on SR 197 between SR 118 and Cemetery Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be repairing the roadway.

State Route 198 Lane Closure – Expect lane closures on SR 198 between Redskin Trail and SR 197 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be repairing the roadway.

State Route 196 Lane Closure – Expect lane closures on SR 196 between Market Street and SR 67 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. Crews will be repairing the roadway.

Interstate 75 Lane Closures – Expect intermittent overnight lane closures on I-75 in both directions between Middle Pike and Hengstler Road from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. starting Monday, March 18 through Friday, November 1. Crews will be performing bridge work.

HARDIN COUNTY

State Route 31 reconstruction: Main Street between Ohio Street and Carrol Street in the city of Kenton closed on March 4 for 240 days for reconstruction, curb and gutter, and sewer.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: U.S. 68/Detroit St. to Letson Ave., back to SR 31/Main St.

State Route 309 between County Road 15 (Allen County line) and State Route 235 closed Monday, July 8 for approximately 40 days to replace five culverts.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: I-75 to SR 81 to SR 235, back to SR 309.

PUTNAM COUNTY

U.S. 224 Culvert Replacement between County Road 14 and County Road L closed Monday, July 8, for approximately 19 days to replace three culverts.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: SR 694 to SR 115, back to U.S. 24.

State Route 115 bridge maintenance: State Route 115 between Road I-14 and H-13 over the Blanchard River will close on Thursday, July 18, for approximately 30 days for bridge maintenance. (14.31)

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Detour: SR 15 to SR 613 to SR 634 to SR 694, back to SR 115.

State Route 613 curb and sewer: Main Street in the village of Leipsic and West Leipsic is closed for curb replacement and sewer repairs.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Part 2: SR 613 between SR 65/Eastom Street and CR 5 closed on May 20 for approximately 60 days.

Detour: SR 109 to SR 65 to U.S. 224 to CR 5, back to SR 613.

VAN WERT COUNTY

U.S. 30 slope repair: The U.S. 30 westbound right, driving lane between Marsh Road and Dutch John Road will close daily starting Monday, July 1, for several days to repair slope erosion.

U.S. 30 rest area reconstruction: The U.S. 30 rest areas between State Route 49 and U.S. 127 in Van Wert County closed on January 11 for approximately one year for complete reconstruction of the buildings.

U.S. 30 bridge repair: Converse Roselm Road and Stripe Road over U.S. 30 are closed until further notice as a safety precaution due to a bridge strike caused by an over-height vehicle.

U.S. 30 chip seal: U.S. 30 westbound between the Indiana state line and U.S. 224 will be restricted to one lane for approximately three weeks, according to the following schedule. A width restriction of 10 feet will be in place during the project:

  • Westbound passing lane will close July 15-23.

  • Westbound driving lane will close July 23-29.

  • Westbound passing lane will close July 29-Aug. 2

U.S. 33/State Route 49/State Route 81 resurfacing: Routes around the village of Willshire will have lane restrictions for a resurfacing project.

Work will take place in the following areas:

  • U.S. 33 between the Indiana state line and the village of Wilshire

  • U.S. 33 between the village of Wilshire and the Mercer County line

  • SR 49 between the village of Wilshire and the Mercer County line

  • SR 81 between the Indiana state line and the village of Wilshire

U.S. 127 resurfacing: U.S. 127 from the Mercer County line to the south edge of the city of Van Wert will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Visit the project website: PID 116768

U.S. 224 resurfacing: U.S. 224 between U.S. 127 and the Putnam County line will be restricted to one lane for resurfacing.

State Route 81 reconstruction: State Route 81 between Willshire Eastern Road and Harrison Willshire Road, just east of the village of Willshire closed on May 6 for approximately 150 days to raise the roadway profile and replace two culverts. Access for local traffic to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: SR 49 to U.S. 33 to SR 118, back to SR 81 (see map).

Leeson Avenue reconstruction: Leeson Avenue between Shannon Street (State Route 118) and Rose Drive in the city of Van Wert closed on Feb. 7 for 245 days for reconstruction including curb and gutter, storm sewer, and a multi-use path on the north side of the roadway.

Update: Material delays have paused the project, with a planned restart date of July 22, 2024.
