Spencerville under boil water advisory due to water leaks

SPENCERVILLE — The Village of Spencerville is under a boil water advisory until further notice, according to the village’s Facebook page.

The boil water advisory was issued Monday after a “major water leak” was reported in the Eastgate Drive area, a leak that was isolated that same day. That leak, along with an additional water leak in the 400 block of South Pearl Street and other technical difficulties led to the boil water advisory, according to the village’s Facebook page. The village’s pool was also closed Monday due in part to the water leak, as well as due to air temperature.

The village posted Tuesday that the advisory remains in effect and that a donation of drinking water was available at the village’s utilities office, 524 N. Broadway St. According to the Facebook post, water would be available for affected residents until 3:30 p.m., with any remaining donated water available for pickup between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Any residents hoping to receive water must have a valid ID and a water bill with them when they arrive.
