Public assistance sought solving cold case homicide in Lima

LIMA — The Lima Police Department has asked for the public’s assistance in solving an almost 20-year-old murder of a Lima man.

According to a Crime Stoppers news release, on Sept. 25, 2005, at 11:45 p.m., Lima police officers were dispatched to the area of Market Street and Metcalf Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a white Cadillac with Lucious Upshaw Jr., 53, as the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Upshaw was transported to the hospital and died from his injuries.
