‘Sailor’s Warning’

6 p.m. Saturday

The Avante Garage Theatre Company will stage a reading of a new original play by Nick Hribar “Sailor’s Warning” starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at the Ohio Theatre at 122 W. North St. in Lima.

Doors will open for dinner at the free play at 6 p.m., but seating is limited.

The play features a comedic and tragic adventure and is suggested for an audience of 18 years of age or older.

Johnny Folsom 4

7:30 p.m. Friday

The Johnny Folsom 4 will perform at Feel Good Friday starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Fountain Park at the corner of West Main Street and South Jefferson Street in Van Wert.

The free concert will feature the North Carolina band paying tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash.

Anyone can pack a picnic to enjoy the event.

Buckeye Cruisers

5-8 p.m. Friday

The Buckeye Cruisers Car Show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Buffalo Wild Wings at 2948 Allentown Road in Lima.

The show recurs every Friday until September and features 50/50 drawings, music and door prizes.

The event accepts donations.

First Fridays

6-8 p.m. Friday

Probable Cause will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5 in downtown Lima.

The band will provide music to go with the celebration that takes place the first Friday of every month in the downtown area of the city.

ArtSpace/Lima will hold a “Pottery and Posters” sale from 4 to 8 p.m.

Drum Circle

4-7 p.m. Sunday

Anyone can participate in the drum circle from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Ottawa Metro Park at 2632 Ada Road in Lima.

The free event will welcome all instruments and provide rhythmic instruments for anyone without one.

Everyone is also welcome to bring snacks and drinks to share, as well as chairs, mats, blankets or rugs.

• Black Cat Five: 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7 — Black Cat Five will perform at Concerts in the Park at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Faurot Park at S. Cole Street and Lakewood Avenue.

The free concerts take place every Sunday in summer.

• Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Bluegrass Band: 7-9 p.m. Saturday — Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Bluegrass Band will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at the Ottawa Metro Park Amphitheater at 2632 Ada Road in Lima.

The concert is free.

• Music by Melvin: 7-9 p.m. Friday — Music by Melvin will perform at this week’s Lincoln Park Dance at 7 p.m. Friday, July 5 at 199 Shawnee St. in Lima.

The dance is free and open to the public.
