One Lima man injured in stabbing, another jailed

LIMA — A Lima man was arrested Thursday in connection with a stabbing incident that reportedly took place a day earlier.

According to Lima Police Department Detective Steve Stechschulte, just before noon on Thursday officers were dispatched to the area of Elizabeth and McKibben streets in reference to a black male covered in blood. Upon their arrival officers found Anthony Reynolds, 55, suffering from knife wounds.

During the investigation detectives learned that Reynolds was at his residence at 21 Superior Court the previous day and had returned home around 4 p.m. to find Rashad Roberson, 29, of Lima, in the apartment. Roberson reportedly attempted to take Reynolds’ phones by force. Stechschulte said that when Reynolds resisted, Roberson took a knife from his bag and began slashing Reynolds, slicing him on the wrist. Roberson fled but was taken into custody on Thursday.

Reynolds did not seek medical attention or call the police following the incident.

Roberson was taken into custody for suspicion of felonious assault and held at the Allen County jail.
