LIMA — A new clinic in Lima is offering walk-in lab tests for everything from cholesterol and diabetes monitoring to weight management hormone tests — no doctor’s note needed.
Lima resident Sandra Bullock, who owns a home healthcare franchise in Lima, opened a new franchise location for Any Lab Test Now at 1450 Cole St., Lima, in May.
The clinic offers more than 8,000 lab tests, including popular tests such as prostate-specific antigen tests, comprehensive metabolic panels and gender reveal tests.
There are DNA tests for weight management, infidelity and paternity; allergy panels for hundreds of food and airborne allergens; nutritional panels to test for food insensitivities or vitamin deficiencies; and blood tests for colorectal cancer screening.
Employers can order background checks, finger-printing and drug or alcohol testing for prospective job candidates.
Parents too can order hair tests to screen their teenagers for drug use. “That’s beneficial to put their mind at ease,” Bullock said.
Results are typically available within three business days, according to Any Lab Test Now’s website.
The clinic is open Monday through Saturday, no appointment or doctor’s note needed, though clients are encouraged to share their results with their doctor.
While the clinic does not accept insurance, Bullock said clients may use their Health Savings Account cards. Prices are available online at anylabtestnow.com.
“We’re really making a difference for people,” Bullock said, especially for people who don’t see a doctor regularly or who are embarrassed to initiate a conversation about certain aspects of their health.
“We don’t discourage anyone seeing a doctor,” she said, “but sometimes it’s just an easier, more convenient trip for them to make than to go through the doctor then come here.”
