Two people suffer serious injuries after crash with semi

DEFIANCE — A Continental man was moved by medical helicopter from the scene of a two-vehicle crash Monday at the intersection of Mansfield Road and Schubert Road.

According to a Ohio State Highway Patrol news release, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Eugene Anderson, 45, of Gary, Indiana, was driving a semi-truck traveling westbound on Mansfield Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Braxton Wolff, 17, of Continental, who was traveling northbound on Schubert Road. After the impact, the Chevrolet caught on fire.

Ayersville EMS transported Anderson to Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Defiance EMS took Braxton to the same hospital with serious injuries. Mercy Life Flight airlifted his passenger, Brenden Wolff, 21, of Continental, to Mercy Health’s St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries.
