Harrod woman suffers serious injuries after crash with guardrail

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP — A Harrod woman suffered serious injuries Friday afternoon after her vehicle struck a guardrail on North Phillips Road.

At approximately 4:20 p.m., Alicia D. Wireman, 38, was traveling southbound on North Phillips Road when she traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck the end of a guardrail, causing her to come to rest on top of the guardrail.

Wireman was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was taken by Beaverdam EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital. A news release from the State Highway Patrol said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The State Highway Patrol said due to the damage to the guardrail, North Phillips Road will be closed indefinitely between Lincoln Highway and Stoodt Road.
