LPD looks for answers after gunfire reported

LIMA — Lima police officers are looking for the public’s help in identifying two groups that apparently exchanged gunfire at the intersection of Cole Street and Robb Avenue on Sunday evening.

The Lima Police Department officers responded to the area of Cole and Robb shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of shots being fired, according to a press release. Officers learned there was one group of people on foot in the area, with another group of people nearby in a vehicle.

The LPD reported one of the people on foot fired more than 10 shots toward the vehicle, with all the people on foot fleeing.

The vehicle fled the area. Police believe someone in the vehicle may have returned fire as it fled.

There were no known injuries from the incident reported as of Monday afternoon, police said.
