ONU to close campus April 8 for eclipse

ADA — Ohio Northern University will close its campus and cancel classes on Monday, April 8, due to the total solar eclipse, the university announced via press release Wednesday.

ONU joins a growing list of schools and universities within the path of totality of the eclipse to cancel class or send students home for the day.

Emergency officials estimate as many as 150,000 visitors will travel through the area starting Friday, April 5, which could result in congested traffic, disruption to cell phone service and limited supply of food and gas.

The university will livestream the eclipse online at onu.edu and the university’s YouTube channel.
