AMHA gains new executive director

LIMA — The Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority welcomed a new executive director. The board members re-introduced Tiffany Wright to the community at Wednesday morning’s mayor’s press conference. Wright has served the organization for almost 24 years. She hopes to continue to influence change in this new role.

“As the newly appointed executive director of the Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority,” Tiffany Wright said, “it is an honor to serve our community. Our mission extends beyond providing safe and sanitary housing. It empowers us to help our residents. I’m hoping for a future where the Housing Authority catalyzes positive change.”

Wright also said she hopes to address the needs of families through educational programs and wellness initiatives. The organization also hopes to collaborate with other resources in the city.

The new executive director replaces Anna Schnipple, who retired this year.

“We recognize the importance of collaboration and we will actively seek partnerships, local agencies, educational institutions and community organizations,” Wright said. “When you work hand in hand, we can create a network of work that transforms challenges and opportunities. Together, we can create a path to future alignment in the surrounding counties.”

Wright quoted the late Jackie Fox following her introduction.

“We should be a stepping stone, not a stumbling block,” Wright said. “A place where everyone can flourish.”
