Redesigned LimaOhio.com launches

LIMA — Online readers of The Lima News found a new design and improved functionality from LimaOhio.com on Thursday morning.

The website moved to a more modern platform, meaning it’s designed to load more quickly, especially on mobile devices. In fact, it’s the newspaper’s first website designed with mobile users in mind, since roughly two-thirds of LimaOhio.com’s users browse from their mobile devices.

Readers will likely appreciate these upgrades:

• A list of related and new stories below the text of individual stories.

• A cleaner look on all pages, which will load more quickly with improved readability on most devices.

• New ad sizes and locations for advertisers.

• A completely interactive Community Calendar, which allows readers to more easily see featured upcoming events or search for different types of events.

More improvements are on the way later this year, including a streamlined way for customers to manage their print delivery and online accounts.

The new site also gives the newspaper more flexibility to update the design to meet our readers’ needs. If you have feedback on the new site, please direct it to editor David Trinko at [email protected].

Because the site is built on a new platform, your existing shortcuts and comments on stories may no longer work. We attempted to keep the links to section pages as close as possible, so readers’ bookmarks would continue to work.

It was the first major update to LimaOhio.com since 2016.
