WAPAKONETA — Travelers searching for a place to experience the total solar eclipse should look no further than Wapakoneta, birthplace of Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong.

LIMA —The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce will hold the Solar Smash Bash from 3 to 7 p.m. April 6 at the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse.

LIMA — The ArtSpace/Lima will be hosting a Total Solar Eclipse viewing party from noon until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 8, downtown Lima parking garage, 150 W. Market St. According to a recent press release, the event will have live music and food from Bean City Chicken. The tickets are $20 each and are available for pre-sale. LIMA — Judges of the Allen County Court of Common Pleas and Probate/Juvenile Courts have opted to close their respective offices on Monday, April 8, due to an expected influx of people into the county during the solar eclipse that day.

BLUFFTON — Dr. Luke Myers will share “From Light into Darkness … and Back into Light” at 11 a.m. April 2 at Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital, 1 University Drive, ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse.

LIMA — The way we view the world is through one very important organ: the eyes. On April 8, residents will have an opportunity to watch a total solar eclipse. Experts recommend each person wear glasses to protect themselves as they experience history.

LIMA — The Lima News is preparing for the darkness of the eclipse on April 8.

LIMA — Bluffton University will be closed during the eclipse on Monday, April 8. According to a recent press release, the University is hosting researchers from the University of Wyoming. The release also states only the participants of the research will be allowed on campus. There will be no places for community members to view the eclipse on campus. LIMA — Lima City Council rescheduled its regular meeting for Monday, April 8 to the following day, Tuesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. in council chambers in the Lima Municipal Building.
