D-II Sectional

At UNOH

Shawnee’s Ava Patel, Bluffton’s Rory Youngpeter, Van Wert’s Mandy Burenga and Elida’s Emma Stauffer advanced through the opening rounds to reach the singles semifinals at the Division II girls tennis sectional at UNOH on Thursday.

Patel, the No. 1-seeded player, won all three of her matches 6-0. She will play Youngpeter in one of the semifinals. Buregma will play Stauffer in the other semifinal.

In doubles, Lima Central Catholic’s Claire Janowski and Alexa Heffner will play Celina’s Isabella Thobe and Elise Muether in one semifinal and LCC’s Emma Skinner and Maria Pignataro in the other semifinal.
