Dobie tops GLSS field in Sprints at Limaland

Sunny skies and a stiff northwest breeze made for a slick clay oval at Limaland on Friday night, but Wapakoneta’s own Devon Dobie didn’t mind as he led green to checkered to win the K&L Ready Mix Clash/Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial feature for the GLSS Ohio CAT Sprint Cars.

Dobie would start from the pole position alongside No. 24 Kobe Allison and led all 5 laps en route to the victory. No. 11G Luke Griffith tried to run down Dobie in lapped traffic late but was unable to catch the No. 23. Griffith would settle for second, with No. 22H Randy Hannagan third, No. 85 Dustin Daggett fourth and Allison finishing in fifth.

In DIRTcar UMP Modified competition, No. 82 Brennan Sherman started on the pole alongside No. 45 Chase Holland, and drove a masterful race to pick up his first career feature win over Holland. Brennan’s father Todd finished third in the No. 65, with No. 8 Fireball Pinkerton finishing fourth and No. 9C Troy Catterene fifth.

The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks completed in the racing program, with Oregon, Ohio’s Craig Dippman besting the field in the Dippman Motorsports, Martin Dynamics No. 74D. Todd Sherman recorded his second podium finish of the night, finishing in the second position, No. 22T Tony Anderson finished 3rd in the Troy Breidenbach owned entry, while No 7C Jordan Conover fourth and No. 8 Zach Rush completing the top 5.

Limaland Motorsports Park is back in action next Friday, June 14th with the Modified Mayhem Tribute to Terry Hull. The DIRTcar UMP Modifieds will compete for a top prize of $2040, and $340 to start the 20-lap A Main honoring one of the true Legends of Limaland.

In addition, if there are at least 45 UMP Modifieds in the pits, there will be an additional Non-Qualifiers feature, paying a standard Limaland feature payout. Over $1600 in lap leader money will also be up for grabs between the 2 features.

The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks are also in action, and the Dirt Track Truck Series.

Pit Gates open at 4:30 p.m., Grandstand Gates open at 5 p.m., Hot Laps at 6:30 p.m., and Racing at 7:30 p.m.

General Admission for ages 16 and older is just $12, ages 11 to 15 are $6, and kids 10 and younger are admitted FREE with a paying adult. Pit passes for all ages are $30.
