Lima Senior gets league win in volleyball

Lima Senior got its first volleyball win of the season and its first Toledo City League win with a 25-6, 25-7, 25-12 win over Toledo Woodward on Wednesday.

Mallory Gipson had 16 assists and 8 aces and Makayla Red had 6 kills, 7 digs and 5 aces for the Spartans (1-2, 1-0 Toledo City League).

Leipsic 3, Elmwood 0

Danaysia Danzy had 17 kills, Karmyn Brough had 4 aces, was 19 of 20 serving, had 26 assists and was 80 of 81 setting for Leipsic. Samantha Hazelton had 19 digs and was 12 of 12 serving. Jadyn Cupp had 3 aces and was 13 of 13 on serves.

Boys Golf

Celina 166, Bath 169

Nick Steinbrunner shot a 38 and Lennon Cisco had a 39 to lead Celina. Braden Binkley and Connor Raines shot 40 for Bath.

Allen East 171, Leipsic 178, Delphos Jefferson 181, Spencerville 190

Allen East’s Levi Clum was the match medalist with a 36. Isaac Gallmeier led Jefferson with a 39 and Brevin Brandt shot 39 for Leipsic. Michael Woods’ 45 was the low score for Spencerville.

Fort Jennings 189, Crestview 189

Fort Jennings won the match on a tie-breaker, the scores of the two No. 5 players. Crestview’s Matthew Dealey had the low round in the match with a 44 and his teammate Trey Skelton shot a 45. Brayden Hart anad Adam Hoersten shot 45 for Fort Jennings.

Kalida 178, Elida 197

Conner Nartker led Kalida with a 37. Jack Stechschulte shot a 44 and Evan Langhals had a 46. Griffin Burton, Aiden Musial and Keegan Butler all shot 48 for Elida.

LCC participated but did not have a full team. Parker Judy of LCC shot a 41.

Ottoville 161, Van Wert 161

Ottoville won on a fifth-score tiebreaker. Keaton Schnipke (39), Blake Kortokrax (39), Michael Turnwald (41), Jace Langhals (42) and Evan Altenburger (42) contributed to the victory at Willow Bend. Van Wert’s Katon Foster was medalist with an even-par 35.

Ella Marshall, Olivia Burkhart and Lexi Poling scored Ada’s goals. Alex Gibson, Kenley Poling and Kailey Wagner had assistss. Katie Sizemore got the shutout in goal and had 4 saves. Musketeers counterpart Maggie Pothas had five saves. Fort Jennings outshot Fort Jennings 16-4.

Elida 2, Riverdale 1

JoJo Knight and Lexie Good scored goals for Elida. Leah Ramirez had three saves on four shots. Both teams had four shots on goal.
