ARCHERY

Allen County: The Allen County Archers will be holding 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday of each month through September. It is open to all equipment.They are also holding traditional 3-D shoots on the third Saturday of the month all year long. They are open to all archery equipment.

FISHING

Delaware: On Oct. 10, BrushPile Fishing will be playing host to the “Never Give Up. Never Quit” Veterans Day Crappie Tournament.” This year it will be hosted at Delaware Lake. The tournament will be one day with two-person teams. Top three places will win cash prizes and the top five places will qualify to participate in the Crappie USA National Tournament held at Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Kentucky, on Oct. 23 and 24. GOLF

Waynesfield: The 16th annual CMM West (Children’s Medical Missions West) Outing will be held Sunday, Aug. 9, at Prairie View. All proceeds will be going to the organization to purchase airline tickets for children coming from third world countries for free medical care. Cost is $45 per player. Call 419-568-7888 to register. Ottawa: A charity scramble to benefit Awakening Minds Art will be held Aug. 23 at Moose Landing Country Club. Cost is $60 per person or $200 per four person team which includes golf, meals and door prize entry. Ottawa: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Putnam County has rescheduled its ninth annual Golf For Kids’ Sake scramble event to Sunday, Aug. 30, at Pike Run Golf Club, 10807 Road H, Ottawa, beginning with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost per team is $260, which includes golf for four, two carts, range balls, drink tickets, goodie bags, and two meals. In addition, there are prizes for the first, second, third and highest score and hole prizes. A lunch sponsored by Arby’s will be given to participants prior to play and meals prepared by Uncle Bucks BBQ will be provided for dinner during the awards immediately following the event. First place will be $400 and par 3 holes will have hole in one prizes: including a chance at $10,000 hole in one prize. Door prizes will be accepted up to the day of the event. Lima: The Elida Educational Foundation’s annual scramble is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Springbrook Golf Club, 4200 Ottawa Road, with an 8:30 am. shotgun start. Cost is $60 per player with prizes and meal included. Hole sponsors are $100. All proceeds go to the Elida Educational Foundation to help provide student scholarships. Ottawa: The 26th annual Networking on the Course Golf Outing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at Pike Run. Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for nonmembers (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net. Call 419-223-6045 for more information.

SOCCER

Lima: The Family YMCA is offering a league, which is following Gov. Mike DeWine’s rules for COVID-19 guidelines, for those ages 4 to fourth grade from Sept. 5 to Oct. 10 at the fields by Safety City on Collett Street. Cost is $25 for members and $50 for nonmembers which includes T-shirt and socks. Matches will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration runs until Aug. 24 and is available online at limaymca.net or stopping by the Y at 345 S. Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting. Lima: The Family YMCA is starting a Wednesday evening coed league starting Sept. 16 and running through Oct. 21. The league is for those 18 and older. Registration will end Sept. 7.
