CLERMONT, Fla. — The Bluffton University softball team was back in action on Thursday after a day off Wednesday. In game one the Beavers fell to an undefeated Widener (3-1), but came back with a 5-1 victory against Houghton in game two.
Against Widener, the Beavers scored when Courtney Jasinski’s single knocked in Shawnee graduate Molly Bollinger in the top half of the fifth inning.
Erin Norman got the start, allowing three runs on five hits with two strikeouts in a six-inning outing. Her record fell to 2-2.
Against Houghton, Riley Langstaff had three hits and three RBI and Crestview grad Sydney Bowen had a pair of hits and scored two runs.
Katie McCord got the win, going 5 1/2 innings, allowing one run and six hits.
UNOH splits
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The University of Northwestern Ohio defeated Saint Francis 8-0 and fell 11-2 to Marian University. No other game information was posted by deadline.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton’s Tj Mills and Brianna Gillig have received second team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
A four-time All-HCAC honoree, Mills was freshman of the year in 2016-17 and honorable mention All-HCAC as a sophomore. She was a second team selection as a junior. Mills is Bluffton’s all-time leader in steals with 225. Her 1,189 points and 371 assists place her third all-time at Bluffton. Her 300 free throw makes are fifth all-time. She is seventh all-time with 409 field goals made, while her 71 triples are 11th all-time. Mills is tied for fourth on the career list with 105 games played and her 103 starts are tied with Taylor Knight and Rachel Beining at the top of the record books.
The four-year starter dropped in 12.4 points per game (ninth in the conference), while her 3.8 assists per game and 2.7 steals pere game led the HCAC. Her 74 steals established a new single-season record at Bluffton.
Gillig was named to the All-HCAC freshman team in 2018-19. She was third in the conference with 16.9 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. Gillig set a new women’s single-season mark with 455 points. She came up short of Kaycee Rowe’s school-record 232 rebounds in a season, pulling down 220 boards. Her 131 makes at the foul line tied her for third all-time.
