ARCHERY

Allen County Archers

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, have monthly shoots planned. A traditional shoot is held the third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details, call Neil Wallace at 567-825-7109.

The Allen County Archers, at the corner of state Route 117 and Defiance Trail, will be holding 30 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday each month through September. These are open to all.

Columbus Grove

The Columbus Grove Archery Club is playing host to an indoor traditional shoot Tuesday evenings through the spring. Starting times are 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. For more information call Tom Frick at 419-384-3033.

BASEBALL

Cairo

Cairo Recreation will be playing host to two baseball leagues for third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade teams starting in May. Teams must consist of all players from the same school district. For more information call Bryan Best at 419-230-3946.

Lima

Bath baseball is having its annual “Best of the Northwest” youth tournament June 8-10. This is a school team tournament (all players must be from the same school district). Twelve teams accepted for each division (first 12 teams paid in each division). There will be a 12u, 10u and 8u coach pitch division. The cost for the 12u & 10u division will be $250 with a three-game guarantee. The cost for the 8u coach pitch division will be $200 with a three-game guarantee. Delphos

The ninth annual Nathan Miller Memorial Baseball Tournament will be June 1-3 at the Delphos Stadium Park. The tournament is a 16-20 team tournament for boys age 11-12 years old (age cutoff is March 1). The tournament will be pool play with a three-game guarantee. BASKETBALL

Elida

The District 8 boys and girls high school all-star games will be played Monday and Tuesday at the Elida Fieldhouse.

The girls games will be Monday with the Division I-II-III game at 6:30 p.m. and the Division IV game at approximately 7:45 p.m. The D-I-II-III boys game will be at 6:30 p.m. and the D-IV encounter is scheduled for approximately 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Admission will be $4 for adults and $2 for students.

Lima

The Lima YMCA is taking registration for men’s basketball league for players over the age of 18. Registration ends today. Team fee is $500.

FOOTBALL

GOLF

Lima

The 2018 Lima City Golf Men’s Tournament will take place June 20-24 at courses throughout the Lima area. The tournament will open June 20 for the Senior Flights and Open Flight qualifying rounds Thursday, June 21, begins the Championship Flight with two rounds of play. The Senior Flights and Open Flights will begin match play. Final arrangements are still being made with the area courses for scheduling purposes with those details being released at a later time. Online registration and additional details will soon be available at limacitygolf.com.

Putnam County

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Putnam County will be holding the Golf for Kids’ Sake at Pike Run Golf Course at 1 p.m. June 24. Forms will be available on the group’s website April 9.

HORSESHOES

Lima

The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C Street, have openings in leagues and doubles.

Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn Hole leagues are forming. Horseshoe pitchers are needed for new leagues. Contact Dwaine Klink at 419-235-3677 or Roy Moore at 419-231-3720 for information.

PICKLEBALL

Lima

Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima

The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for non members (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net.

SHOOTING

Lima Sabres

The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice and League is 4 p.m. weekly. Junior Wednesday morning trap practice is 9 a.m. to noon weekly, weather permitting. For additional information, go to limasabres.com or visit on Facebook.

RUN/WALK

Lima

Lima Senior High School will host the inaugural community-wide My School Color Run at 8 a.m. May 19, to raise money for the school’s cheerleading program.The My School Color Run is an untimed 3-mile fun run for all ages and fitness abilities. Along the route, participants pass through vibrant color zones, making it a “colorful experience.” Additionally, each pre-registered participant is provided with a single powder color packet that will be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line. Participants who register by May 4 will receive a t-shirt, race bib and individual color packet. OTTOVILLE

The Ottoville Mother’s Club and the Ottoville Community Service Club will be sponsoring the “Ottoville Big Green Boost Up” 5k run/walk to be held on March 24 at the Ottoville Parish Center in Ottoville, Ohio. Proceeds from this event will benefit Ottoville students to ensure they have the essentials for success. Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m. This year there will be three different events for individuals and families to participate in. “Walk the Block” will be held from 8:30- 10:00 a.m. This is the second year for this event where participants of all ages walk a ½ mile loop around the church block. Participants may complete the loop as many times as they would like during the event. Two other events include the ¼ Mile Kids Fun Run starting at 10:30 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk beginning at 11:00 a.m. Individuals can visit www.runsignup.com/bgboostup for additional information and to register online. Race entry forms may also be picked up at area Ottoville Businesses. This year’s event will feature a competition between the grades to recruit the most people to their team. When individuals register for any of the three events online, they can sign up for one of the 13 “teams” representing each of the grades in the school. The grade that recruits the most members to their team will win a pizza party with one winner in the elementary and one winner in the junior high/high school.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING/FITNESS

Registration for the 20th annual Joey Simpson bench press challenge (raw meet) is being conducted until April 23 for the meet to be held at the Lima YMCA at 11 a.m. April 28. The fee is $30 for individuals ($15 each additional division) and $40 for a team.

Lima

The Lima YMCA will be holding a women only personal protection workshop at 9 a.m. to noon April 21 a the YMCA. The fee is $10 for members and $30 for non members. YMCA instructor Mark Hunter will be conducting the workshop.
