DELPHOS — Kalida’s Josh Klausing shot a 73 to lead the Wildcats to the Putnam County League golf tournament held at the Delphos Country Club Monday.
Kalida was first with a 315 followed by Columbus Grove with a 376. Miller City rounded out the top three with a 379. Ottoville finished fourth with a 385 with Leipsic taking fifth with a409 and Fort Jennings with a 463.
Klausing, who was the medalist, was also named the PCL player of the year. Kalida’s Ken Schnipke was named top PCL coach. Joining Klausing on the first-team, All PCL squad were Andy Schimmoeller (Ottoville), Christian Nartker (Kalida), Josh Recker (Kalida), Luke Lammers (Miller City) and Boyd Vance (Miller City).
Securing spots on the second team were Luke Erhart (Kalida), Owen Macke (Columbus Grove), Jacob Oglesbee (Columbus Grove), Mason Tadena (Leipsic), Grace Miller (Kalida), Dylan Kemper (Ottoville), Zach Roberts (Columbus Grove) and Ethan Geise (Ottoville).

Van Wert’s Jared Hernandez was the medalist with a 38. Elida scores were Logan Long 40, Jared Ramirez 44, Trevor Hooker 44 and Skyler Smith 46. For LCC, ROSS OTTO shot a 42 followed by Dominic Riepenoff with a 43 and Braden Ruble had a 45. Alex Wisser shot a 47. In addition to Hernandez’s 48, Austin Bissenette had a 44, Evan Knittle 49 and Gavin Flickenger with a 40

Crestview ranked No. 3
Crestview has cracked into the top five of the Ohio High School Associated Press Division VII poll after the Knights came in at No. 3. The Knights 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Northwest Conference are coming off a 36-13 victory over Columbus Grove Friday. Crestview will play host to Spencerville this week.
Leispic dropped a couple of spots after the Vikings were beaten by Putnam County rival Pandora-Gilboa in the Division VII poll. Despite beating the Vikings, the Rockets, who crack the top 10 for the first time this year, come in at No. 7. Minster drops to No. 9 and Lehman comes in at No. 10.
In Division VI. Marion Local remains atop with a 5-0 mark. Fellow Midwest Athletic Conference foes, Coldwater comes in at No. 7 followed by St. Henry at No. 8.
Girls tennis
St. Marys 3, Bluffton 2
ST. MARYS — St. Marys got singles wins from Clare Caywood and Bluffton got singles victories from Bluffton’s Lucie Fett and Erin Hotmire. In doubles play the Roughriders got wins from Jennifer Brown and Jillian Wine and the second doubles team of Grace Dicke and Bailey Lininger.
St. Marys advance their record to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the WBL.

Allen East 9 Lincolnview 2
Allen East’s Madison Houston scored four times and teammate Kinsey Helser scored twice. Also scoring goals for the Mustangs are Ally Richardson, Olivia Silone and Julia Meyer. Richardson also recorded two assists with Helser, Meyer and Taylor Rooker all collecting assists. For Lincolnview, Maddie Gorman and Abby Meyers scored goals. Allen East keeper Lauren Criblez recorded one save and Hanna Young notched seven saves.

Shawnee 4, Kenton 0
Shawnee’s Rachel Russ, Madi Mason, Bella Fusillo and Celia Spieles all scored goals. Collecting assists were Bella Fusillo, Alaina Behnke and Sophia Fusillo. Indian keeper Grace O’ Connor had six saves and Kenton Alivia Purtee has six saves.
Shawnee improves to 8-2-1 and 5-1 in the WBL. Kenton slips to 4-3-3 and 1-3-2 in the WBL.
Kalida 0, Liberty-Benton 0
Kalida keeper Bailey White recorded 14 saves to notch the shutout.
Liberty-Benton goes to 6-3-2 and Kalida goes to 5-3-3
Bath 3, St. Marys 1
Bath’s Chandler Clark had two goals and Kelsey Wallace added a third. Bath keeper Emily Rocca had three saves.
Bath is now 8-3-1 (3-2-1 WBL) and St Mary’s is 4-5-1 (3-3 WBL).

Leipsic 3, Van Buren 0
LEIPSIC — Leipsic defeated Van Buren 25-19, 25-10, 25-21. Leipsic’s Carlee Siefker had 12 kills and 14 digs, Hayley Heitmeyer ahd 13 kills and six 6 blocks and Kierra Meyer had 12 kills and 21 digs. Lyndie hazelton recorded 20 assists and Selena Loredo had 15 assists. Kacey Dulle had 11 digs.
Miller City 3, Pandora-Gilboa 0
Miller City defeated Pandora-Gilboa 25-18, 25-22 and 25-16. Pandora-Gilboa’s Kayla Ferguson had three aces and two blocks and Paige Fenstermaker had 16 kills. Addilyn Diller had 22 assists and 15 digs and Madison Hovest had 10 digs.
Delphos Jefferson 3, Temple Christian 1
Delphos Jefferson defeated Temple Christian 25-9, 28-30, 25-16, 25-17. Temple Christian’s Madelyn Crawford had two aces, five kills and 16 digs and Sophie White had two aces, two assists and 24 digs. Anna Acklin had three aces, six digs and 14 assists and Heather Goliver had two aces, five kills, two blocks and seven digs. Lizzle Helser had four kills and five blocks and Aryn Recker had two blocks and 11 digs.
Temple Christian falls to 3-12.

Crestview defeated Van Wert 25-12, 25-16 and 25-16. For the Knights, Ally McCoy had 15 kills and two aces and Lexi Gregory had 12 kills and Abby Bagley had 27 assists. Lexi Gregory had 13 digs.
Delphos St. Johns 3, Lincolnview 0
Delphos defeated Lincolnview 25-10, 25-15 and 25-17.
Delphos’ Madi Ellis had 22 kills and Ellie Csukker had 19 assists. Kennedy Clarkson had 14 digs and Kylee Moenter and Csukker each had 12 digs.

Ada defeated Kenton 25-20, 25-13 and 25-21.
Ada’s Melina Woods had 20 kills and three aces and Maddie Gossard had 23 assists and Olivia Alexander had 22 digs.
