Dick Spencer Memorial at Waynesfield Raceway Park to feature non-wing sprints

WAYNESFIELD — The non-wing sprints will take center stage Saturday at Waynesfield Raceway Park with the seventh running of the Dick Spencer Memorial, celebrating the life of former racer Dick Spencer.

The tribute to Spencer will be headlined by a non-wing showdown between the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series and the weekly Quest Federal Credit Union Non-Wing sprints. The A-main will pay $1,500 to win and $250 to start. Coming into the race, Dustin Smith holds an eight-point lead over Justin Owen in BOSS points. Waynesfield regular Paul Dues sits just outside the top five. In Waynesfield points, Luke Hall holds a six-point lead over Dallas Hewitt coming into the weekend.

Also competing will be the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints, Satellite Connections UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks and the Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts.

The Spencer family will be on-hand with giveaways for the young race fans in attendance. Bicycles, remote control cars, candy and more will be raffled off during intermission.

Adult general admission is $15. Those ages 11-15 are admitted for $6 with everyone under the age of 10 admitted for free. Pit passes are available for $30.

Pit gate opens at 3 p.m., grandstands at 4 p.m.. Hot laps start at 6 p.m., with the first green flag flying at 7 p.m.
