Wapakoneta second in girls tennis invitational

WAPAKONETA — The host Redskins (12 points) finished second to Ashland (14) in the Wapak Invitational on Saturday.

Also competing were Carroll (10) and Ayersville (no points).

The C doubles team of Makayla and Madison Schroeder finished first and singles player Allie Zofkie and the A doubles team of Madison Watt and Cassidy Hayes each were second for the Redskins.

Celina 5, Bellefontaine 0

CELINA — Singles players Cami Mohler, Ally Harris and Renee Zuercher and doubles teams of Breanna Jenkins and Miranda Rable and Allie Lehman and Christina Harting all won in straight sets.

Lancer Invitational

VAN WERT — Delphos St. John’s (18-over-par) won the team title at the rain-shortened tournament at Hickory Sticks Golf Course followed by St. Henry (20-over) and Lincolnview (22-over). Joshah Rager of Lincolnview was medalist with an even-par score over nine holes. Due to the tournament being halted no other team or individual scores were reported.

Motorsports

Racing canceled

Wet conditions forced the cancellation of Saturday night racing at Limaland Motorsports Park and Waynesfield Raceway Park.

The racing season has now concluded at Limaland. The 2016 season championship funds, and awards will be mailed to the top 15 in season points standings for each division. For more information go to limaland.com.
