Locos game gets canceled

RICHMOND — Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the Lima Locos’ Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game against Richmond on Wednesday. The Locos are next scheduled to play Irish Hills at 7:05 tonight in Adrian, Mich.

Schatz wins Doty Classic

ATTICA — Donny Schatz steadily worked his way through the pack from his 15th starting position at the 28th annual Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday night at Attica Raceway Park. He used a restart with 12 laps to go to grab the lead and drove to his 14th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win of the year.

The Classic returned to Attica – where it started in 1989 – after spending the last 10 years at Limaland Motorsports Park.

ACME game suspended

COLDWATER — Inclement weather forced the District 4 game between Parkway and St. Henry to be suspended in the bottom of the third inning with Parkway ahead 4-0. The game will resume at 6 tonight.

Ohio Amateur

FINDLAY — The first round of the 110th Ohio Amateur Championship at Findlay Country Club concluded just before a storm started to roll through.

Justin Perdue. 19, of Dublin grabbed the lead with a 5-under par 65. Perdue plays at Guilford College and graduated from Wellington High School. Alone in second place is 2015 Ohio Junior Champion Jake Fox of Cincinnati with a score of 66.

Rockford’s Jordan Bollenbacher shot a 70, Lima’s Matthew Akers had a 73 and Lima’s Phillip Trueblood finished with an 80.

Legion game tonight

OTTAWA — The district game between the Fighting 63rd and Napoleon has been suspended until 6 tonight at Memorial Field.
