Summer Sprint Sizzler set for Sunday night at Waynesfield

WAYNESFIELD — The first Summer Sprint Sizzler featuring four different types of sprint cars makes its debut during the Independence Day weekend at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The Sunday night program will feature Midwest sprint cars competing for some of the larger payouts of the season.

The event will be headlined by the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders running for a $3,000 payday. Former World of Outlaw competitor Randy Hannagan has gone two for two at Waynesfield in NRA action this season. Max Stambaugh will be looking to beat out Hannagan coming in second and third in the past two visits from the NRA Sprint Invaders. Waynesfield’s weekly Non Wing program will join the inaugural Summer Sprint Sizzler running for $2,000 to win. The F.A.S.T 305 sprint series will make its second appearance Sunday, running for a $1,000 payday. Steve Rando picked up the F.A.S.T series win last season. The stop will be the first of four dates for the F.A.S.T series away from its home base in central Ohio. The AMSA Mini Sprints will round out the night of nothing but sprint car racing with a $500 prize for the A-main winner.

An additional $30,000 is up for grabs by any driver who can compete and win each of the four A-mains. Any driver able to complete this challenge will walk away with a total of $36,500 for the weekend.

Times will be adjusted for the Sunday evening race. Pit side gates will open at 3 p.m. and grandstand gates at 4 p.m. Cars hit the racing surface for hot laps at 6 p.m. with the first green flag of the night flying just after 7 p.m.

Adult general admission is $20. Senior citizens are admitted for $18. Those ages 11-15 will be admitted for $15 with everyone under the age of 10 admitted free. Pit access is available to the public for $30.
