Rockford girl in National Pitch, Hit, & Run finals

ROCKFORD — Rockford 8-year old softball player Brittyn Bruns has qualified to compete in the National Pitch, Hit, & Run Final Competition at the Major League Baseball All-star Game in San Diego on July 12.

Bruns is one of three finalists. To qualify, Bruns placed first at local, district and regional level competitions earning eligibility to compete at the state championship held at Progressive Field at Cleveland. Bruns placed first in the 7/8 year-old age division. Her combined at state placed her in the top three high scorers nationwide, earning her spot in the finals. Bruns and her fellow competitors have been invited to field balls during the All-Star Weekend Home Run Derby contest.
