Ottawa falls twice in Legion baseball tourney

CHILLICOTHE — The Ottawa Fighting 63rd dropped a pair of games Saturday in the Jadwin Memorial American Legion baseball tournament.

Ottawa fell to Portsmouth Post 23 11-7 and Cambridge Post 84 13-2.

Against Portsmouth, Austin Klausing (Kalida) had three hits and an RBI, Ryan McCracken (Van Wert) had two doubles and three RBI, Colby Clifton (Crestview) had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, Brayden Sautter (Ada) had two hits and Corbin Niese (Miller City) doubled.

Against Cambridge, Niese doubled and had two RBI.

Ottawa (9-6) finished 2-2 in the tournament and will play Tuesday at Whitehouse.

COLDWATER — Defiance defeated Coldwater 3-2 in the championship game Saturday after Coldwater had defeated Shawnee 13-2.

Against Defiance, Jack Muhlenkamp had two hits, including a double and two RBI and Dylan Thobe doubled twice for Coldwater.

Against Shawnee, Sam Broering had two hits and four RBI, Austin Riethman had three hits and an RBI, Dylan Thobe had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI and Nathan Grunden had two hits and an RBI for Coldwater. Nolan Numbers had a hit and an RBI and Tyler Hall doubled for Shawnee.
