Locos score 15 runs in rout

ADRIAN, Mich. — After scoring 19 runs in their Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League season opener, the Lima Locos defeated Irish Hills 15-4 Wednesday night at Sienna Heights.

For the second straight night, the Locos trailed 1-0 after the first inning and then went on a scoring barrage that included a four-run second that gave them the lead for good.

Jason Sullivan had three of Lima’s 15 hits, including two doubles, and an RBI. Jacob Barnwell had two hits, including a triple, and four RBI, Daino Deas II had two hits and two RBI and Colin Stolly, a Lima Central Catholic graduate, had two hits and an RBI.

Connor Curlis was credited with the victory on the mound, allowing two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out five in 4 2/3 innings of work.

The Locos play their home opener against Lorain County at 7:05 tonight at Simmons Field.
