3 Locos homer in 19-4 romp to open season

ADRIAN, Mich. — Three Lima players hit homers as the Locos began their Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League season with a 19-4 victory Tuesday night against Irish Hills.

Jacob Corso, Logan Quimuyog and Jason Sullivan all hit round-trippers.

After trailing 1-0 after the first inning, Lima went on a scoring tear, plating at least two runs in each of the second through sixth innings. Corso finished with four hits and four RBI, and Quimuyog and Sullivan each had three hits and and three RBI. Jeremy Johnson had had three hits and Daino Deas II had two hits and four RBI also for the Locos.

Nick Ernst was credited with the win, allowing two earned runs, three hits and three walks while striking out one in four innings of work.

The Locos will play against the Leprechauns again at Sienna Heights at 7:05 tonight before playing their home opener at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Simmons Field.
