UNOH drops pair to Union

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — The University of Northwestern Ohio softball team lost a doubleheader at Union College, on Sunday, 8-0, 6-5.

UNOH lost three of four to Union over the weekend.

On Saturday, Union won the first game, 2-1, while UNOH took the second 8-4.

In the second game, UNOH’s Emily Rockman went 2 for 4 with two home runs and three RBI. Shelby Lucas (Shawnee) went 3 for 5 with two RBI. In the second-game loss on Sunday, Lucas went 2 for 4.

UNOH is 6-4. Union is 15-12.

UNOH baseball splits with Cleary

LIMA — UNOH baseball split a doubleheader with Cleary on Saturday at UNOH.

UNOH (11-5), ranked No. 17, had a walk-off win in the opener, pulling out a 3-2 decision in 10 innings. Cleary (6-9) salvaged the final game of the series with a 4-2 win.

In the first game, the Racers’ Brett Akins had an RBI, game-winning single in the 10th inning. It was his second RBI of the game.

John Schrieber picked up the win with 2/3 of an inning of relief and two strikeouts.

In the second game, UNOH’s Kyle Fisher went 3 for 3 with a triple.
