O-G’s Hempfling makes D-II all-tournament team

COLUMBUS — Ottawa-Glandorf sophomore forward Kadie Hempfling, who scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in two games, was named to the Associated Press Division II all-tournament team Saturday.

Braxtin Miller was named the most outstanding player after leading Kettering Alter to its second consecutive state championship.

Joining Miller and Hempfling on the D-II all-tournament team were Alter’s Libby Bazelak, Eastmoor’s Jala Belcher and Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown’s Dani Lawson.

Waterford 29, St. Wendelin 27

COLUMBUS — Division IV tournament outstanding player Megan Ball’s layup with 13 seconds to play gave Waterford (28-1) its first championship title with a victory over Fostoria St. Wendelin (26-4). Also making the all-tournament team was Jackson Center’s Nicole Fogt.

Marion Pleasant 37

COLUMBUS — Division III tournament outstanding player Leah Morrow scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Nubians (24-5) against Marion Pleasant (27-3) in the state championship game. The junior guard also had four of the team’s 18 steals.

Wadworth 60, Mason 51

COLUMBUS — Jodi Johnson scored 12 of her 28 points in the fourth quarter to lead Wadsworth (28-1) to its second title with a win against Mason (26-3) in the Division I final.
