COLUMBUS — Three teams from the area, and two in Lima, will be battling for a boys basketball state championship this weekend at Ohio State’s Value City Arena.
Lima Central Catholic, Lima Senior and Lincolnview all won their regional title games this past weekend.
In Division I, No. 2-ranked Lima Senior (28-0) will meet No. 3 Wilmington (27-1) at 5:15 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals. In the other Division I semifinal, No. 10 Westerville South (24-4) will meet No. 9 Garfield Heights (23-4) at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The Division I championship game is set for 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Ohio State’s Value City Arena.
In Division III, No. 1 ranked Lima Central Catholic (26-1) will play Roger Bacon (21-7) at 2 p.m. Thursday. In the other Division III semifinal, Lynchburg-Clay (25-2) will face No. 8 Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph (22-5) at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.
The Division III championship game is set for 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Ohio State.
In Division IV, No. 1-ranked Lincolnview (26-1) will meet No. 10 Jackson Center (24-4) at 2 p.m. Friday. In the other Division IV semifinal, Willoughby Cornerstone Christian (15-12) will play Columbus Wellington School (24-3) at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
The Division IV championship game is set for 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Ohio State.
