Chicago rallies to knock off Express

CHICAGO — Sherrod Collins scored 37 points as Chicago overcame a 16-point deficit to knock off the Lima Express 128-119 Sunday in Chicago.

The Express is 3-5. Collins, a Kansas product, was one of six Blues’ (5-4) players who scored in double figures.

Kyle Meyer led Lima with 24 points. Cody Ballard finished with 23 points. Jody Hill had 22 in his return to the team from playing professionally in Iraq.

Lima built a lead as big as 16 in the second quarter, but Chicago rallied going on a 21-7 run to take a 72-69 advantage at the half. The Express would pull no closer than eight points in the fourth quarter.

Lima hosts Windy City Saturday and Sunday at Lima Central Catholic High School.
