Letter: Outreach program changing lives

Changing Seasons Outreach Program would like to extend our gratitude to the many people, businesses and area non-profit agencies that are collaborating with us during our community awareness activities in October.

Changing Seasons is a nonprofit agency and a division of Coleman Professional Services, funded by The Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties and serves mental health clients, addicted, recovered and homeless clients.

We provide an outreach and drop-in center as well as a safe haven for our clients and members. We offer them different kind of classes, games and entertainment, computers, free haircuts, free healthy snacks and more.

Together with Coleman Professional Services our vision is to foster recovery, build skills and eventually change destinies by assisting and offering a helping hand within many different aspects.

There will be an overnight awareness of homelessness on Saturday, in the town square. We will have entertainment, police patrols, and doughnuts provided by Mayor Berger on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. The public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair and a blanket and experience what homelessness feels like, at least for one night, beginning at 11 .p.m.

Lapel pins and schedules of events can be obtained at Changing Seasons, 136 S. West St. in the lower level of the YMCA annex downtown Lima. For further in formation, or to receive a packet of information including Lapel Pin and the schedule events, contact us at 419 221 1988 or by email at [email protected].
