Letter: Bent over barrel by oil companies

On Wednesday both domestic and brent oil closed at a six-year low and has been declining in recent weeks. Yet the price of gasoline has risen nearly 60 cents a gallon. What’s the excuse this time? Did having a tax free weekend need to be made up? Maybe it’s the fact that the petroleum companies know they have us bent over a barrel. They know that parents are busy driving their children to and from practices and shopping for school supplies etc. It’s a busy time of the year.

Record profits are the only thing they are concerned about presently. Shame on the oil industry for being so greedy. And lastly shame on those who regulate the industry for not standing up to them.
